Strong Internet addiction

From practicing psychiatrists have increasingly been on the increase in the number of patients, the main complaints are related to the influence of the Internet. In August 1999 approximately 83 million Americans have been connected to the Internet, and this number is growing steadily. In 2000, it should grow further by about 12 million. Along with the increasing popularization of the Internet to increase the number of patients that could be a serious problem for humans, while the methods of treatment and about the nature of the disease is known very little. Support for and development of Internet technologies, previously considered only in the context of utilitarian use of the network should be considered in relation to mental health. It is necessary to develop safety programs, rehabilitation centers and support groups. New research should include the development of standard tools for determining cyber-dependent people and assess their condition, that in the future to understand the role of communication and influence of the Internet to other established habits (such as alcoholism, gambling, sexual complexes) and psychiatric conditions. We have allocated five major subtypes of the main diagnosis of "Internet addiction" to describe, as it is addicted people: cyber, virtual dating, addiction to online stock trading and gambling, obsessive surfing, finally, one of the most famous cases, an addiction to computer games. The successful treatment requires that people realized that he was sick, and then attempts to save the patient from his sexual complexes, which are often a consequence of inferiority complex. Also very effective is to switch attention to the rights of his family or training for various social skills. We have approved the medical program to the main problems faced by Internet-dependent people.
